FIRST INSURANCE offers its customers various classes of Engineering Insurance Coverage including:

 

• CONTRACTORS’ ALL RISKS (CAR)*: offering comprehensive protection against loss or damage related to contract work, in addition to protection against Third Party Property Damage or Bodily Injury arising in connection with the execution arm of the construction project.

• Some of the causes of loss covered under CAR insurance include, but are not limited to: Fire, Lightning, Explosion, Flood, Inundation, Windstorm, Earthquake, Theft, Burglary, Negligence, Malicious Acts, Error & Omission and Bad Workmanship.

 

• ERECTION ALL RISKS (EAR)*: offering comprehensive protection against risks involved during the course of the erection of the machinery, and plant and steel structures of any kind, in addition to protection against  Third Party Property Damage or Bodily Injury arising in connection with the erection part of the project.

• This cover is usually sought by the manufacturers or suppliers of the plant & machinery while carrying out the erection work, the buyer of the plant or machinery to be erected, or the firm commissioned to carry out the erection.

• The causes of loss covered under EAR insurance include: Fire, Lightning, Explosion, Flood, Inundation, Windstorm, Earthquake, Theft, Burglary, Negligence, Malicious Acts, Error & Omission, Bad Workmanship, Faults in Erections, Short Circuiting, Arcing, Excess Voltage, Excess Pressure or Vacuum and Tearing Apart on the account of Centrifugal Force.

 

• CONTRACTORS’ PLANT AND MACHINERY (CPM)*: offering comprehensive cover against loss or damage from any cause occurring at work, during maintenance operations, at rest, and can be offered for several work sites.
